The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit organized a symposium entitled Secrets and Skills of Success in Life, in the presence of the Assistant Dean of the College of Science and Postgraduate Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Muntadher Aidi Sharif, Assistant Lecturer Marwa Essam, the Unit’s official, and the official of the Media and Government Communications Division, Khalil Ali Khader, and a number of lecturers and affiliates.

In his speech in which he opened the symposium, the Assistant Dean stressed the role of educational and academic institutions in spreading knowledge and human values, and providing services to society in various fields, noting that the Technical College of Engineering Kirkuk continues to hold scientific and cultural activities to achieve its goals and vision, and to perform its lofty mission in preparing generations of learners

The symposium included a lecture given by Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Khalifa Hassan, discussed the secrets of success in life that a person possesses, which are internal factors that are apparent or hidden in the subconscious that the individual needs to detonate and rely on to continue success, or external factors related to adapting the environment and building psychological supports through living with stability and optimism, in addition to the fact that the process of success depends on the individual’s vision of himself and the extent of his belief in his ability and confidence in his energies and potential. She explained that the most important components of success and excellence are knowing one’s own capabilities and setting a goal with good planning and wise leadership of time and not wasting time with a spirit of optimism and attention to the health and psychological aspect, as a healthy mind is in a healthy body, which is one of the most important components of success and excellence. The lecturer also stressed that success is achieving the goal, while excellence is that the achievement rises above the level of the majority to achieve the goal. She explained the importance of competition, which is one of the most important components of success, but it must be a positive, honorable competition and good intentions and its role in achieving success and excellence and staying away from negative competition represented by hatred, envy and hatred.
