1- About the Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies Engineering

Objectives of engineering refrigeration and air conditioning technologies

The Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies Engineering aims to qualify and develop the basic competencies of students in calculating the cooling and heating load, designing air ducts, and maintaining refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, which are necessary for students to succeed as a professional refrigeration system designer and technical supervisor with experience in maintenance.

Our Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering provides a rigorous learning experience across a broad range of areas, including Refrigeration Engineer, Heating and Refrigeration Systems Designer, Ductwork Designer, HVAC System Operators, HVAC System Installers, Maintenance Expert, Virtual Analytics, Strategic Management and Technical Leadership. The curriculum has the following distinguishing features:

• A comprehensive curriculum for preliminary studies that includes heat transfer, numerical analyses, power plants, instruments, measurements, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

• Theories that explain the important roles of the air conditioning design system in economic decisions.

method and duration of the study

The study of refrigeration and air conditioning technologies engineering extends over four academic years.

The duration of each academic year is two semesters and thirty weeks.

Average and annual rating

Teaching in the Department of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies Engineering is in English.

Online general work and a list of suggested readings will be provided to help students understand the basic concepts of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

Each year’s assessment may include first-semester exams, second-semester exams, project papers, reports, and year’s work, as well as a final exam, which is normally held at the end of each year unless otherwise stated.

graduation requirements

Students are required to successfully complete fifty credits for each subject, including fifty CPAs and fifty final exams.

Those who fail in any subject are required to pass successfully. They can try again in the final second round exam.
