Examination Instructions No. (134) of 2000 issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as follows:

·   Instructions for examination committees and the mechanisms for their formation, calculating the duration of study according to the semester and annual academic systems, and preparing curricula and calculating mechanisms. ·         Handling cases of student cheating during semester or final exams and the penalty for that, which is that the student is considered to have failed in all academic subjects for that academic year based on Article (20) of the Code. Examination days.

Appendix(1)

Examination Instructions No. (134) of 2000

Article 1-

These instructions apply to universities, the Technical Education Authority, the colleges and institutes affiliated with each of them, and private colleges.

Article 2-

The college council determines, upon a proposal from the department or branch council in a college in which there are no departments, the number and type of endeavor exams, the method of conducting them, and calculating their percentages, provided that the endeavor grade is not less than 30% thirty percent and does not exceed 50% fifty percent of the final grade, except for subjects with The practical and applied nature is left to the College Council to determine.

Article 3 –

First – The quarterly or annual final exam for the first and second rounds will be confidential in all subjects.

Secondly – The semester or annual exam includes the vocabulary of the subjects scheduled during the semester or year, provided that the study period for semester lessons is not less than (15) fifteen weeks and for annual lessons is not less than (30) thirty weeks, not including the days of final exams and school holidays.

Article 4-

The faculty member is committed to programming the vocabulary of the subjects he studies, along with the distribution of grades for the annual examination and the final examination. Article -5-

The college or institute council shall form, upon the proposal of the dean, one or more permanent committees to administer examinations during the academic year.

Article 6-

The minimum passing grade (50%) is fifty percent for each subject.

Article 7 –

Every two semester subjects in colleges that adopt the semester system are counted as one annual subject unless the number of semester hours is equal to the minimum number of study hours for one subject during the academic year.

Article 8- (Amended)

First: A student who fails half of the subjects (allocating the fraction in the case of an odd number of subjects in the student’s favor) or less in the first round exams is allowed to take the second round exams in the subjects in which he failed. Conversely, he is considered to have failed the first round, with the exception of students in the final year. Secondly – If the student is considered to have failed any of the first or second rounds, he must repeat the year in full time and take an exam in the subjects in which he failed, as well as the subjects in which he obtained an acceptable grade.

Third: The failing student will be exempted from the deleted subjects and will be required to take the new subjects in his class when changing curricula, provided that this does not lead to his transfer to a higher class or his graduation unless it is not required for a subject, taking into account what was stated in Clause (Second). Fourth – In the event that the student succeeds in all subjects in the academic stage he is in and fails in some of the subjects from a lower grade, he will be passed to the higher grade and will remain in the subjects in which he failed and must pass. Article 9-

The student is considered to have failed any subject if his absences exceed (10%) ten out of one hundred of the hours scheduled for that subject without a legitimate excuse or (15%) fifteen with a legitimate excuse approved by the College Council.

Article 10-

The student may participate in the second round exams if his failure to participate in the first round exams is due to a legitimate excuse approved by the College Council, provided that this is supported by official documents and in one of the following cases.

First: sudden illness

Second: The death of one of his first-degree relatives

Third: Run-over accidents

Fourth: Sudden arrest

Article 11-

Academic subjects of a practical or applied nature that do not have a final exam are excluded from taking the second round exam. This is determined by the College Council at the beginning of the year and announced to the students.

Article 12-

It is not permissible to postpone the second round exam under any circumstances.

Article 13 –

Ten (10) points will be deducted from the final grade for the subject in which the student passed in the second round when calculating the average, excluding success with an acceptable grade, in which case his grade will be 50%, fifty percent in that subject.

Article 14-

The Department Council prepares the final results and submits them, along with its recommendations, to the College Council for approval and announcement.

Article 15-

First: The student’s grade point average is calculated on the basis of the grades he obtained in each subject, taking into account the number of units for each subject.

Secondly – The unit is considered the effort of one theoretical hour per week for a period of (15) fifteen weeks.

Third: Every two practical hours in college is equivalent to one theoretical hour, and every three practical hours is equivalent to one and a half hours.

Article 16 – (Amended)

First: The student’s graduation rank is calculated according to the following:

·         The first year 10%, one tenth of a percent

·         Second year 20% twenty percent

·         For the third year, 30% thirty percent

·         Fourth year 40% forty percent

Secondly – The graduation rate is calculated by multiplying the student’s average in each year by the percentage indicated accordingly, and the sum for the academic years is the student’s graduation rate.

Third: The passing grade is calculated for the student who is accepted into a class higher than the first grade (such as the top graduates of institutes accepted into the second grade or in cases of transfer from outside the country and elsewhere) for the years he studied only and in the same percentages specified above for each recalculated stage. Article -17- (amended)

First – The results are announced with the following estimates to determine the student’s level among the successful students in terms of grades:

·         Excellence – equivalent to grades 90 – ninety – 100 hundred

·         Very good – equivalent to 80 – eighty – less than ninety

·         Good – equivalent to 70 – seventy – less than eighty

·         Average – equivalent to degrees 60 – sixty – less than 70 seventy

·         Acceptable – equivalent to grades 50 – fifty – less than 60 sixty

·         Fail – equivalent to grades 49 – forty-nine and below

Second: Fractions of a grade are rounded to a correct grade if they are half or more for one material.

Third: It is not permissible to reconcile fractions of a degree to a correct degree in relation to the average.

Article 18

First: The College Council may calculate a year of non-failure for a student who failed in the subjects in which he did not participate in the second round in the second year in the event that he submits a medical report certified by a specialized committee in the Ministry of Health due to a reason beyond his control or force majeure during the examination period. The College Council is convinced of this.

Secondly – The College Council may allow a student who failed in the year ending for two consecutive years, and who failed in the second year in one annual subject or in two semester subjects, to take the exam in the third year, provided that his position on military service is sound and he has not spent the permitted period. This is for him to stay in college or institute.

Article 19- (Amended)

The student’s relationship with the college ends in one of the following two cases:

First – If he failed his class for two consecutive years.

Secondly – If the student exceeds the prescribed period of study in his major and half of this period, including the years of failure, and the years of postponement and non-failure are not counted among this.

Article 20 (amended)

If the student is proven to have cheated or is proven to have attempted to cheat in any of the daily, monthly, semester, or final exams, he is considered to have failed all subjects for that year. If this is repeated, he will be dismissed from the college and his entry will be deleted from its records. .

Article 21

First: The student may postpone his studies for one year for legitimate reasons that the College Council is convinced of, provided that he submits the postponement request at least thirty days before the start of the final exam.

Secondly – The College Council may postpone the student’s study for a second year for legitimate reasons that he is convinced of, provided that the postponement request is submitted at least thirty days before the start of the final exam.

Third: It is not permissible to postpone a student’s studies in a college that follows the semester system in the second semester unless it is due to a reason beyond his control and if he is successful in the first semester. In this case, the postponement is considered for the entire academic year.

Fourth – The Minister or whomever he authorizes, based on the recommendation of the college and for convincing legitimate reasons, may postpone the student’s study for a third year, taking into account what was stated in Article (19) of these instructions.
