Introduction:

This department was established in 2023-2024 The department specializes in teaching students for five years the sciences of architecture and construction engineering to practice their profession as technicians of architecture and construction technology and work in official and private engineering offices and projects. And graduating specialized cadres to work in the fields of technology.

The main objective of the Department of Optometry Techniques is to train, educate and prepare the student theoretically and practically to graduate a technical architect who possesses the distinguished and advanced technical skill, as well as knowledge of laboratory materials and devices and how to deal with them and familiarize him with the types of laboratories and methods of their management, as well as plans to introduce all new and useful with a focus on scientific aspects and delete all old ones that do not fit with the process of scientific and technical development, especially after the development at the Northern Technical University.          

The department also aspires to be a pioneer in the field of education technology for architecture and construction in the academic and professional fields and to deepen professional affiliation when its outputs are distinguished theoretically and practically by providing the best knowledge programs in the field of architecture technology and adopting creative and innovative ideas, projects and plans.

Vision, Mission and Objectives: –

Vision: 

Preparing architects who possess the ability and have the means to achieve the goals and objectives of the department in creating an architectural environment that is visually and environmentally distinguished and respects the values, legacies and local and Arab Iraqi identity, and making education a continuous process that is not limited to university study only.

Mission:

The department should provide an environment that motivates the student to know and learn about all aspects that affect the profession he practices after graduation and to inform him of all theoretical and applied developments and the means used to invest these developments and provide what achieves quality standards of excellence similar to international universities.

Objectives of the Department:

Among the most prominent objectives for which the department is established are:

1. Giving importance to the technical and practical aspects of architectural culture with what the engineer needs in the field and application.

2. Linking the theoretical aspects with the design aspects and making them a field of application and creativity.

3. Providing scientific materials of a broad nature that allow the student to access precise specializations or scientific research, whether at the level of professional practices or at the level of specialized studies and the introduction of new vocabulary that is developed with local and global developments.

4. Provide sufficient hours for the student in the ceremony through which he can rely on himself in making decisions and try to make the hours of the basic subject close to the reality of the architect’s work in his professional practice.

5. Linking architecture to the nature of the country culturally, historically, geographically and socially and adapting the student’s ability to appreciate the influences in architecture, its methods, terms, expressions and techniques, and adapting his intellectual abilities to find solutions needed by the country and society.

6. Motivating the student to invest in the opportunities provided by the university that enable him to learn about a diverse scientific culture, learn about engineering and scientific specializations in other departments, and expand his mental and physical perceptions.

1. Work in state departments affiliated to the Ministry of Housing and Construction.

2. Work in engineering departments affiliated to all ministries.  

3. Work in private and public consulting offices.

4. Work in private and public engineering offices.

5. Obtaining the identity of the Iraqi Engineers Association.

6. Iraqi universities and related research centers
